Coltart Contracts were appointed Principal Contractor for The Corner in Darvel, a new community and events space delivered for DART following a successful community asset transfer. The project created a 1,200 sqm canopied and outdoor venue designed to host markets, performances and local gatherings, providing a flexible and welcoming hub for the town.
Working alongside a volunteer led project team, we delivered a coordinated build programme to bring the community’s vision to life. Close collaboration with local stakeholders ensured the space met practical event needs while maintaining quality and programme control. Our team supported smooth delivery from groundworks through to final construction and handover.

The completed venue has quickly become a vibrant focal point for Darvel, hosting markets, performances and community events. Within its first six months, The Corner welcomed thousands of visitors and hundreds of local vendors.
